   The Emporia High School bowling team has had a very successful season so far. The Centennial League meet was hosted on February 17 at the Emporia Flint Hills Lanes. 

   The girls team finished 3rd, with an overall score of 2,745. 

   The boys team had a 4th place finish, with a combined score of 3,190. 

   Three of the team’s girls placed in the top 10 with Darby Hauff (12) placing second with a score of 577. Olivia Boettcher (12) placed 7th, with a score of 506. Placing 8th was Brittany Mohling (12) scoring a series of 502.

   On Tuesday, February 21, both girls and boys bowling teams for EHS qualified for the state meet. The girls finished 3rd, with a combined score of 2,675. The boys also finished 3rd, with a close game against Topeka West. They ended up with a total score of 3,329. 

   Nate Green, a freshman, won an individual regional championship with a score of 717. The state meet will be held on Thursday, March 2 at the Northrock Lanes in Wichita. 

   With only one meet left in the season, the bowlers reflected on what made the games memorable. 

   “My favorite part of the season was being in the game and being with my team,” Mohling said. 

   Morgan Liggett (10) says that his favorite part of the season was “the team dinners or the activities after meets.”
