Friday’s nights Homecoming game began with the announcing of our Homecoming Queen and King. The King canidates were Angle Aldrete, Talan Tabares, Fred Jackson, Bobby Trujillo, Jonathan Laudie. The Queen candidates were Alison Brown, Rebecca Snyder, Arianna Hamilton, Elizabeth Willhite and Journey Walburn. The winners were Bobby Trujillo and Journey Walburn. Following the crowning ceremony, the Emporia High Football team battled against Manhattan, ranked #1 in 6A Highschool Football. After being down 51-0 at halftime, there was a running clock in the seconds half. There are a few things the Spartans need to work on and Quarterback Sheldon Stewart says, “Practice needs to be better and working harder at practice will help us improve. Despite the final score of 58-7, playing in the Homecoming game is always exciting. Senior Derrick Keys says, “I’m excited to compete and it being at home in front of the home crowd.”
