This past Friday, the EHS Varsity Football team faced Liberal High School. Although the Spartans did not come out with the win there were many great improvements during the game.

Before the game started, the football booster club hosted the annual Spartan Fest. At Spartan Fest the band plays pep music and a preview of their show, while the cheer team dances to the songs. The booster club also had a hot dog dinner for any Spartan fans that wanted to tailgate before the game.

Another exciting part of the first home game was the mini cheer clinic. EHS Cheer hosted a clinic on both Tuesday and Thursday to prepare the mini cheerleaders for the game. They learned a dance, a few cheers, and jumps. They preformed these things at the football game, as well as the soccer game on September 13.

The Spartan football team had many great advances on the field but never ended up scoring. The total score of the game was 0-53. The football team will be traveling to play Salina Central on September 16 for their next game.
